ImageRight Lands in Birmingham….
and Johnstown and Lexington

It has been almost a month since ImageRight training started in all the offices and several weeks since we went live and began using it. The Go-Live week went off as expected with only a few glitches. People are adjusting to the change and we’re getting issues fixed as quickly as possible. The Claims and Underwriting departments are now using ImageRight exclusively.

Getting adjusted to not having a file on your desk is probably the biggest change for most people. On the Claims side, adding automation to the processing of fee bills is still being tested. The Underwriting conversion has gone a bit smoother than the Claims side. With everyone in one location (the Birmingham office), it’s been easier to troubleshoot problems and communicate fixes. Having three claims offices, it has been a little more challenging to get things standardized. It is really a balancing act on the claims side—the need for standardization balanced with the need to customize processes that better fit the different offices.

We’ve still got several departments that we have not transitioned into ImageRight yet: the Statistical and Audit Departments and Human Resources to name a couple. In the near future, we’ll develop some basic workflows for these departments. And, Accounting still needs to convert documents from OptiDoc.

The main thing to remember is if you have problems, communicate it. Check with a coworker. If the program isn’t working, let us know. Make sure that it gets communicated to someone that can fix it. For example, if something isn’t printing directly into ImageRight, don’t print it out and scan it in, let someone know that there is a problem! If a coworker is unable to help with your problem, please let Corey know and he will make sure that it’s fixed.

Most of all, remain patient! We’ll continue to work through any glitches.

The whole purpose of ImageRight is to enable people to do their jobs better. It gives us a very good disaster recovery tool and will help us all to be more productive and efficient.

What’s on the horizon? ImageRight currently has a search feature, but in the coming months, they’ll be introducing a much better search function that will perform a full text search.
