| What do you like most about your job?
I like everything I do—I can’t say one thing is better than the other. Some days we’re really busy on the phone, other days not busy at all—it just depends on the day.
One of the things I’ve found challenging since I started was learning how to do EDI (Electronic Data Input) for the various states. We have to send data to Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. That’s one of the things I’ve been doing off and on for the 6 years I’ve worked here.

What do you like to do in your off-time?
With what little time I have…. It takes 45 to 50 minutes for me to get to the office every morning and home at night. I don’t live that far away from the office, but traffic is really bad. My husband and I have a 1960’s Corvette and when we have time, we go on Cruise Ins (lots of people with classic cars meet in one spot) to little towns around Kentucky. My husband’s dream was to buy a new Corvette, but when he finally got one (a red convertible) he wasn’t as excited about it as he had thought because it wasn’t something he could tinker with and restore, so he wound up getting an old Corvette in its place.
Other than that, my Mom recently had hip replacement, so I have been spending a lot of time with her. I take her to the movies, shopping, or dinner. She turned 80 years old recently, so I try to get her out and have fun with her as much as possible. My only daughter just started her first year in college—she’s attending Lexington Community College, part of the University of Kentucky.
What about hobbies?
Believe it or not, I really like to work in the yard—I like to mow. It takes my mind off things. For Mother's Day one year, I got a lawn mower with my name on it—personalized just for me. And I love UK basketball! At the end of the season, I start counting the days until next November when it starts over again!
