Getting to Know Leland Walker

Leland Walker works in the home office with the Accounting Department and helps with the Audit Department as well.

How long have you been with American Mining? I will have my 2nd anniversary with American Mining in August.

Tell us about a typical day? What happens when you walk into the office every morning? A typical day for me is processing claims checks, completing worker’s comp audits, and running check registers.  Month End involves bank reconciliations and journal entries. Lately I have not had a typical day and that makes my job interesting. (I like that.)

Usually the first thing I try to do is catch up with the previous day’s scanning and check account balances.  Then I like to get prepared to print checks.

What do you like most about your job? The Company I work for and the people I work with.  It makes a difference when everyone works as a team.  Everyone I work with makes work fun and not something you dread.  I also like the ability to do something different.  I am very fortunate to work for an employer that takes notice of their employees’ contributions.
