Genevieve Stanley's granddaughter after a Christmas to remember.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

We asked folks in all the offices what they remembered fondly about Christmas' past. Here's what you said!

Genevieve L. Stanley: Last year our granddaughter Kiley opened a pair of pajamas and immediately shed her beautiful red and white velvet dress to put them on. Then she apparently was exhausted from all the action. The picture says it all.

Carl W. Legate: I remember one Christmas Eve (in the 60's, sometime during the Vietnam War), I woke up in the middle of the night so I got up and someone told me to go back to bed....come to find out it was my much older cousin that was home from Vietnam....when I asked him what he was doing at our house he told me that he wanted to come see us and that Santa Claus had given him a ride in his sleigh all the way from Vietnam...I remember how awesome that must have been to ride in the sleigh with Santa, and how I told everyone at school about it and how amazed everyone was...my cousin has since gone to be with the Lord...and I'll always cherish that memory...

Elaine Senner: The memories that are close to me are having family gathered together for Thanksgiving and Christimas. The confusion in the kitchen, the conversation at the dinner table and the quiet after as all settle into the living room to watch TV, or sleep.   But on New Year's Eve we celebrate in a different way.  We are hockey fans and we go to a hockey game - we have a semi pro team in town - the Johnstown Chiefs -  and then family, friends and neighbors gather for a party at our house.  In the 21 years that the team has been in Johnstown, we have not missed a New Year's Eve game.  It is the best way I know to celebrate the New year and my birthday.

A Holiday Message from the Chairman

This message was originally sent to everyone just before the Thanksgiving holiday. But, the message bears repeating.

The world sometimes seems so removed from our everyday lives.  The current times, in some ways, however, make “Happy Thanksgiving” even more important than any time in my adult memory.  The current uncertain economic environment with its extreme volatility creates uncertainty for all of us and the resulting concern creates an unsettled state of mind.
